Wild ass

I was reading the due diligence report provided by our external consultant one day and......

... the Project area is located near the Wild Ass Sanctuary... mainly harbours the endangered wild ass sub-species Indian Wild Ass...

Clearly enough it is a kind of animal, but what is it? I find the name owesome.

Checking out Wikipedia: The Indian wild ass (Equus hemionus khur) also called khur, is a subspecies of the Onager native to Southern Asia. The coat is usually sandy, but varies from reddish grey, fawn, to pale chestnut. The animal possesses an erect, dark mane which runs from the back of the head and along the neck. The mane is then followed by a dark brown stripe running along the back, to the root of the tail...

I still can't quite figure out what is it...

Now I know... it actually looks like donkey / horse. Cute animal with an owesome name...... Didn't expect to pick up this by doing a wind power project, cool!

Lucky me

Nowadays are busy days... The past one month was the busiest time since I came back from maternity. My daily routine was reading contracts, mark up contracts, reading term sheets, mark up term sheets, updating financial model, conference calls, replying emails...... on and on and on, never ending~~~ Not only me, the whole project team is working like a dog, and everyday back home like a log!

There was one night when Jayden woke up at around 3am and refused to sleep. So we had a night talk, the first time! We both lied on the bed, face to face, and I started telling him what happened in the day and how tired I was. I didn't expect him to really listen to me, instead I expected him to fall asleep because I was telling him something happened in the adult world. I thought he may find it boring. But, he looked into my eyes quietly and listened to me. The entire conversation was nearly one hour, and he didn't show a single sign of sleepiness or boredom. He was really listening to me! And he came to sayang me at the end of the conversation! I was tired but happy to have such a nice talk with him. He is such a nice boy...

I am lucky because I have a great mum to take care of Jayden in the day, and have a great husband to take care of Jayden in the night before I came home. I also have an understanding boy in the midnight... ha!

I am 4 years younger...

It is time for annual medical checkup! My company has arranged it for all employees and I went for mine this morning. This is my first medical checkup after delivery...

Similar to any other medical checkup, they will need my blood and urine. I like this medical checkup because they also check on body age. Basically, I just stand on a machine, to which they key in my height and my actual age. The machine then takes my body weight and fat content. Base on some magical formula, I get my body age.

There is another test I like - lung age. Again, there is a machine to which they key in my data. To perform the test, I need to inhale as much as I can and give a loud and big exhale into the machine when I am ready, and continue with smooth and long little exhale. The key point is to blow out big air at the beginning and maintain it with long continuous exhale until the end, to show your lung is in good function.

The results from these two tests will normally become a hot topic in our office. Everyone will be talking about it and laughing at each other. In fact, I like these two tests because I enjoy looking at how we react to it. We always have a big laugh!

Here comes my result: my body age is 25 years old this year - 4 years younger than my actual age but 7 years older than last year body age. And guess what? My lung age is 51 years old!! Ha...

First day back to work~

After so many days resting in ward and at home, today is my first day back to work. I feel so energetic and happy! I guess Jo Junior has the same feeling, because he is a little bit more active today.

As I need to climb staircase to my room, so I stay in my room whole day unless going to washroom. My colleagues are so kind to pack my lunch from the canteen and send it to my room. Our tea lady said she will always be there if I need anything from downstair. I also restrict myself from too much walking, carrying heavy files and documents.

This is what I tell Jo Junior everyday now: Be mummy's good boy. Please stay in the womb because it is still too early for you to come out. Make sure you are healthy and strong. Also, help mummy to remind placenta to move farther from the cervix so that mummy can go for normal delivery instead of cesarean. We both work together ok? Thank you, my boy! Be good boy, daddy and mummy love you......

Jo Junior is now 34 weeks old. I just need to wait for another 6 weeks for delivery. I know everyone will be very worry if anything happened to me, especially Jo, so I must be extra careful! I know it is a battle that Jo Junior and I are in now, and as mother and son, we will work things out together! Yeah~

Caution! Lift out of order!

My office's lift is out of order since Monday and will not be fixed in at least a month time! This is a disaster for a 24 weeks pregnant woman. Breathing becomes more difficult nowadays if I exercise too much.

But, it will build up my stamina and tighten my thigh muscle. So, it is good for me too! Well, I just have to climb up slowly to get my breathing smooth.

Today is our last day with Gtalk

Today is our last day with gtalk! So sad!!!

Look at the custom messages shown in my gtalk contact list, everybody is talking about it:
"Gtalk for the last day today, I will pretend I have not found out how to block"
"pain"
"Gtalk will be blocked from today onwards. Be prepared."
"Why not block the phone? We can chat with outsider using phone as well..."
"last day....................."
"忍"
And my custom message is "Today is the last day for GTALK! Let's say bye bye to GTALK!!"

Since we have gtalk commonly used in our company, I found the communication channel between departments and colleagues better. Our legal council uses gtalk to request for documents while she is having meeting, instead of interrupting the meeting to make phone calls. Working groups use gtalk to discuss work progress, instead of putting aside all work to meet up for discussion. We use gtalk to clarify doubts with colleagues, instead of making phone calls or writing emails. And, we use gtalk to get closer with colleagues who are not stationed in a same building. Gtalk eliminates communication gaps, creates us a better communication channel and harmonious working environment, improves our multi-tasking ability, promotes cost cutting and better time management! All these make us more efficient and effective in work! Oh... Gtalk, the wonder!

Nevertheless, Mr V (IT Head) said "IM will bring virus to the server. It is not good for the company. So, we have no choice but to block it."

I'm not into IT and I have little knowledge about how anti-virus system works. Please forgive me if my following thinking looks stupid: I thought it is Mr V's responsibility to improve our anti-virus system? Or, anti-virus system has already been improved but not good enough? It seems to me that anti-virus system is not improved, but IM that causes it looks bad is blocked. Emails bring virus to server, should we block? Internet brings virus to server, should we block?

It is a fact that Gtalk will not be available from tomorrow onwards. But, don't worry! We will find some other stuffs to replace it. We will find our next wonder......

All of us look the same today

My company just implemented uniform system which requires all of us wearing uniform to work. Our uniform is mainly blue, dark blue at the shoulder area and lighter blue for the remaining area. Company logo is printed on left chest area, and name of our power plant is printed below the logo.

Today was the first day everybody wearing uniform to work. Some said we look like police, some said we look like the personnel at KTM ticket counter, some said we look like cadet. I think we look like factory worker. Anyway, uniform is a style of dress to be worn by everybody in a company. Uniform system is implemented to create spirit, sense of belongings and motivate everybody in a company. It doesn't matter what we look like, but how we look, and should ALL look the same! That is the purpose of having uniform, to unify all of us, at least from the appearance.

Frankly speaking, disregard of the material and quality, i think our uniform looks ok! But, for a change, I will suggest our uniform to be mainly white next year. I will suggest blue for shoulder area and white for remaining area. That time, maybe we all look like a navy...
