Jo Junior's longest hiccups~

Jo Junior has hiccups every now and then!

Hiccups is very common for babies even when they are in the womb. These hiccups can start as early as the 6th week of actual conception! Many specialists believe that hiccups may help babies in strengthening their diaphragm muscle in order to help them breathe both in the womb and once they are born.

I'm looking forward to his hiccups... it is much like a rhythmic kicking. But I guess he must have a bad hiccups the night before. I think it was the longest hiccups he ever had, and that made him moving all the time. It was about 5 o'clock in the morning... his rhythmic kicking and constant 'heavy' moving awoke me. With him in the womb, I was able to be with him all the time, witnessing his hiccups and feeling his every movement. It was a very wonderful experience and good feeling for being a mother!

28 weeks pregnancy

I went to my 28 weeks pregnancy check-up yesterday morning. Jo Junior is now 1kg and his head already turned down. I should be able to go for normal delivery...

I just gained about 7kg till now and I'm now 54.6kg. I don't see any parts of my body grow big except abdomen.

My doctor said I have gained 3kg compared to last check-up, which means I have gained 3kg in a month time. Jo Junior was about 0.52kg last month, so about 0.48kg goes to him. How about the remaining 2.52kg?? Don't think the amniotic fluid can take that much weight...

5 new members to my wardrobe~

I went shopping with my sister last Saturday. I always enjoy shopping with her as she can always find good stuffs that I missed. She is a good person to seek for opinion and will help me to control my spending desire. I was so happy as I brought back 5 new members to my wardrobe!

It is definitely a good match with black or white straight-cut pants which will make you look formal yet still feminine. It is free size and comes with 5 colors: white, dark purple, lime green and pink. My sister looks great in lime green and I'm more suitable to pink.

A classic design printed dress that I have been looking for. I like its 'sort-of-turtle-neck' collar. It comes with 3 colors: olive green, purple and red. I find only olive green can bring out the classic feel of it. It can match with black legging or stockings. A very comfortable wear!

A low-cut satin black dress with teal flora printed. The color matching is perfect! This dress would look very common if it is printed with red flora or white flora.

My sister calls it 'The Peacock Dress'. It only comes with this color in three different sizes. A very light and comfortable dress and looks good with or without stockings. This is definitely a good try for me! I never had such design or cutting in my wardrobe. I look very different with this dress... I wore it with black stockings.

A wonderful cardigan... It can be elegant or feminine or casual, depending on how you match it. It only comes with black in three different sizes and the price is very reasonable! I think it is a MUST-HAVE item!

The above items are bought from Envee and Nichi.

Komodo Dragon Walk vs Cat Walk

Jo said I walk like a komodo dragon nowadays. I don't even know how a komodo dragon looks like, forget about its walking style. According to Jo, a komodo dragon doesn't move its legs forward but sideway-forward when it wants to move forward.

I found a picture of komodo dragon. Komodo dragons are the heaviest living lizards on Earth. They can grow to a length of 10 feet, with an average length of 8 feet and weight of 91 kg. Females are usually under 8 feet and weigh about 68 kg. They have long flat heads with rounded snouts, scaly skin, bowed legs, and huge muscular tails. And they are in endangered status now.

Despite of all the information above, look at its left-front leg! It really walks in the same way as Jo described!

Well, I don't deny that I'm doing komodo dragon walk. I have a very valid reason for that - I'm 27 weeks pregnant! What do you expect from a pregnant woman who is carrying a big heavy abdomen? And guess what? I realised most pregnant women do komodo dragon walk! Hoho, that means I'm normal~

Don't worry my dear Jo! I will do cat walk after delivery... ;p

Princess Ashlynn

On 20th January 2009, somebody knocked on the door...
Opened the door, we found a stork with a baby girl...
Story of Princess Ashlynn then begins...

Every child birth brings something to the family...
Ashlynn brings us joys and happiness!

I see how Jo's family changes with her arrivals. The one I found most obvious is my father-in-law. I have never seen such a soft expression on my father-in-law's face until Jo and I went back home this trip. He used to be a strict father, but he is now the most tender grandfather to Ashlynn. The first thing he does after back from work is to look for Ashlynn. If she is awake, he will talk to her and play with her. If she is asleep, he will look at her tenderly and sometimes may even talk to our sleeping Ashlynn "Don't you want to wake up? Gong gong is back..."

I also see how soft my Jo hubby can be when Ashlynn is around. During this home trip, Jo spent most of his time with Ashlynn, talking to her, playing with her, carrying her everywhere until she refused to lay on bed.

She is the first baby in Jo's family, and that makes her precious! Though she is tiny, she has the great power to make everyone in the family laughs, and that's how cute she is!

Plurk ~ My life, on the line...

My sister is one of those who seldom online, always forget passwords for accounts that she signed up and does not involve in any instant messaging or blog or facebook... She has a friendster account, but login only once! And now, she introduced PLURK to me! She seems to be quite active in it. That's really amazing!!

I find PLURK interesting and I like the theme "Your life, on the line".

I have added it to my blog! Just click on it and register yourself! Start to have your life written on the line!

Power of baby movement

Approaching 27 weeks pregnancy, my baby movement becomes more frequent. Everytime he moves will put a smile on my face. I can now interact with him by tapping my abdomen, and he will respond!

I had a nightmare lately which caused me awoke and cried in the middle of the night. In that nightmare, I lost my baby... It was so real until I couldn't control my emotion. I was so confused and frightened! Then, I started to tap my abdomen, tried to call for my baby. He responded and I was relieved.

This is the power of baby movement... it is great enough to create a shinny day for mothers with full imagination like me!

Going home...

We are back to Jo's hometown - Kuala Terengganu. I always enjoy the time here as people are nice, food are delicious and life is relaxing. In fact, I always take this as a good opportunity for me to really take an off from my work and to set my mind free. However, due to long travelling time, this is only the second time we come back after married.

I always long for food that hardly found in KL, especially nasi dagang and Chinese keropok. The first thing we had for our first breakfast back home was nasi dagang, a special rice from Malay cuisine that served with fish and cucumber pickles. Next, we ordered 100 pieces of Chinese keropok to be brought back to KL. And that 100 pieces may not last for a week for the 2 of us, depending on how much we crave for it.

Another activity I enjoy the most here is doing morning marketing with my mother-in-law in China Town or pasar (local market). We really had a great one this morning! We managed to get 10 nice and cheap local made batik sarong back home. Out of the 10, 3 is for my sister-in-law's friend, 3 is for my friend who is delivering in June, 2 is for my sister who loves batik and appreciates the art a lot and 2 is for myself to be used during confinement. And I plan to get a good piece of batik next trip to make myself a nice batik cheongsam.

We are going back to KL this coming Sunday and I'm going to cherish the time we have here.
