Anyone knows about the Barney Show?
Well, I don't think you will know if you are a 70s or 80s baby. During our time, the famous show or cartoon are The Sesame Street, Tom & Jerry, Smurfs, Heman, Transformers... etc.
Barney is a purple dinosaur. There are three dinosaurs in the Barney Show: Barney (the purple dinosaur), Baby Bop (the green dinosaur) , and BJ (the yellow dinosaur). I didn't notice that Barney Show is so popular nowadays, until yesterday when I was in a shopping mall.
My niece was with me yesterday and she insisted to go to the Barney Show. Adults are not allowed to enter the compound. So, I left my niece in the compound with other children. In order to keep an eye on her, I went to the second floor of the shopping mall so that I could see her.
I was not very interested in the Barney Show but the parents around me. The show started in about 5 minutes. Two young DJ came out first. They played games with the children and asked some questions about the Barney Show. As I mentioned earlier, I was not interested in the show, I was looking at the people around me. And I found something funny.
Before that, I should mention that one of the young DJ was a pretty western girl. She looks friendly and nice. I think children like her a lot. But I think daddies like her more. Most daddies were holding camera or video camera. I thought that camera was supposed to take down the precious moment of daddies' children or the Barney... but it was not!
I was standing behind one daddy. And because it was very crowded, he had to lift up his camera high enough to take down the show on stage. So, I could see what he was taking. He was not focusing on Barney or his kid, but the young lady DJ. From the beginning until the end, he was focusing on the young lady DJ, zooming in and out... What a nice dad! I wonder how disappointed his kid would be when watching the show back home....
Kid: "Dad, where is my Barney? Where is my Baby Bop and BJ?"
Dad: "......"
Kid: "Mum, why daddy keep taking the jie jie and not my Barney?"
Mum: "......grrr...!!!"
Kid: "Wa~~~ Wa~~~ Wa~~~" (start crying)
Mum: "Next time don't bring our boy boy to the Barney Show anymore!"
Dad: "...oh..."
